A native of Greenville, SC, Ken Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Master of Education degree (guidance counseling) from Clemson University. He also has a Master of Rehabilitation Counseling degree and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Psychiatric Rehabilitation from the University of South Carolina-School of Medicine. His graduate studies at the USC-School of Medicine included a 600-hour internship working with patients with severe mental disorders. He is licensed by the State of South Carolina to practice counseling and psychotherapy as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He is also certified by the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has over nine years of clinical experience in treating adolescents, and adults using individual and group therapies.
Although he provides general counseling and psychotherapeutic services, my specialties include trauma-related disorders; depression & anxiety disorders; marital & relationship issues; crisis intervention; and severe mental disorders, e.g., schizophrenia.
